Everything was wonderful as to the delivery and the book as a product, but the translation took beautiful old English (middle English?), and translated it to modern speak. Julian of Norwich spoke of God as being "homely" as in family, kin, a loved one from home and reduced it to "familiar" or "friendly". It also had, perhaps a feminist angle as "men" was translated as "people". In doing so I believe the translators insistence that she was faithful to the intent was truthful as far as it goes, but it lost most of the charm, and warmth that a more readable translation, while keeping with as much of the original language would permit, would have conveyed.

"THE light is Charity, and the measuring of the light is done to us profitably by the wisdom of God. For neither is the light so large that we may see our blissful Day, nor is it shut from us; but it is such a light that we may live meedfully, with travail deserving the endless worship of God."Julian of Norwich was a true English mystic (c. 1342-1420). Her book is nothing more than the recapitulation of the Christian belief. That part of the above quote i. e. "it is such a light in which we may live meedfully (rewardingly), with travail deserving the endless worship of God." is just the saying of all of what I want to do in this life.I cannot praise Julian of Norwich enough for her English and also for how much as an example she has been in giving me direction to work, to live, and to heal.These are mainly what she says that might be worthwhile:"For our natural Will is to have God, and the Good Will of God is to have us.""God is all that is good, as to my sight, and the goodness that each thing hath, it is He.""the continual seeking of the Soul pleaseth God full greatly:""the cause while he suffereth (it to be so) is for [that] He will of His goodness make us the higher of Him in His bliss.""the more the soul seeth of God, the more it desireth Him by His grace.""He is the Head and we be His members. To which members the day and the time is unknown, when every passing woe and sorrow shall have an end, and the everlasting joy and bliss shall be fulfilled;""It is His office to save us: it is His worship to do [for] us, and it is His will [that] we know it.""Christ alone did all the works that belong to our salvation,"Thus we see the harmony of the interplaying of creation, fall, redemption, and salvation, ringing throughout.Probably one of the greatest books in my life.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, however, the newest edition of this beloved and wonderful text, Revelations of Divine Love by future Saint Julian of Norwich, ISBN 9781548722753 , as displayed in the "look inside" feature on the listing page, is, most unfortunately, an exceptionally cheap edition.To explain, the Warrack translation, by far the best in my opinion, has been printed time and again to various results. In this edition, existing as both paperback and digital, where the text in the digital version of this book is clean and crisp, the text in the physical, paperback edition, is exceptionally PALE. While the paper used to make this book appears, at first glance, to be of a decent quality, it is actually quite porous and a bit too thin, resulting in a great deal of bleed through, what readers often call "ghosting", such that you see a shadow of the text on the back of the paper cast very clearly through the page, as you are attempting to read it. Rather than use higher quality, thicker, denser paper, the publisher of this text chose to simply dial back the amount of ink they used in printing on the pages.And so, as to the end result, this text is very difficult to read. It is both pale, almost gray in appearance, and plagued by ghosting from the words printed on the back of the pages. I recommend selecting another edition of this wonderful text, if you actually wish to be able to read it. My search for the perfect edition continues. Where the layout of this volume is wonderful, the pale text and bleed through make it a failed attempt. They could fix it, using higher quality paper and slightly bolder text, even going up a font size, but the issue of the paper, governing the choice to use so little ink, would have to be dealt with first.Good luck in finding the right edition for you.

I loved the banter between them, when discussing whether they were called fries or chips.When they meet the next day Amber learns he is a doctor, she is disappointed, as she has sworn off dating doctors, ever since a relationship ended badly. When a hurricane hits, they both rush in to help, grabbing the essentials they head out in too the the hurricane devastated island forced into close proximity. Will it help Jack convince Amber they are meant to be together?Highly recommended for fans of medical contemporary romance.

I loved seeing them working together. I loved seeing that connection between the two and getting to see the reasoning behind Ambers no dating doctors rules. I loved that they were pretty selfless putting making sure that others got the help that they needed. Overall this was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.

Will her past determine her future or will she see the man Jack truly is?This story is fantastic with plenty of medical action and romance. The location is incredible even during a hurricane. I highly recommend it.

Prof. Dr. Florent Thouvenin is an Associate Professor of Information and Communications Law at the University of Zurich. He is the co-founder and co-chair of the Executive Committee of the Center for Information Technology, Society, and Law (ITSL) at the University of Zurich and the Executive Director of the Swiss Forum of Communication Law (SF-FS). Prof. Dr. Herbert Burkert is a Steering Committee Member of the Digital Asia Hub and President of the Research Center for Information Law at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) where he taught public law as well as information and communication law. His research interests include law as Information and its role in regulating information flows in society, information technology as object and driver of regulation, and data protection and access to information regimes.Prof. Dr. Urs Gasser is the Executive Director of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and a Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School. The penultimate book in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series shares all the features that have made this series such a pleasure to read. It has imaginative modernization of classical mythology, likable and capable protagonists, wonderful humor mixed with doses of tragedy and pathos, all told in the sardonic first person by Percy Jackson. In addition we have the Labyrinth itself - virtually alive and as much a gripping and interesting character as any flesh and blood mortal, monster, god, or demigod. The action sequences are well choreographed and the overreaching plot and subplots that run through the entire series are pushed towards what promises to be an page turning climax.After I finished this book I immediately ordered the Last Olympian and some other Riordan titles. This is a juvenile series but I'm thinking there are plenty of adults like me that are having a blast following this fun series. Highly recommended.

My 11 yr old daughter loves this series and asked me to read it with her. I found myself reluctantly enjoying these books. I like the hidden morality lessons and the mythological component, which has inspired her to learn about the Greek gods independently. There is a romantic component between the characters which I could do without, but it's all PG and nothing too hot and heavy. Violence is a component of the books but it is limited and not graphic at all.

This books keep getting better and better, don't they?I want to make this brief and spoiler free, just in case someone who hasn't read the book reads it.I am 13 years old and hard to please in the reading department, really, the books that have always caught my attention are those of adventure and fantasy (for example Harry Potter) and this book has it.After reading The Titan's Curse I believed the books couldn't get any better, and I was proved wrong.The Battle of the Labyrinth is amazing, it has a lot of fighting, some interesting things about Greek mythology that I never knew about, a little romance (We all know we're just waiting for Percy's and Annabeth's friendship to evolve into something bigger!), funny stuff and much more!!We get to see more of characters that had disappeared (*cough* Nico *cough*) and meet very interesting new people!I highly recommend this, and if you're reading this then there's two things you can do:1. If you haven't read the book then what the hell are you waiting for? Go get it!2. If you have read this book then buy the next one! It's what I'm gonna do right now!

Well, this book was definitely a penultimate book. I think it ranks #4 of the 5 books in this series for me, mainly due to so much of it feeling like build up to what’s coming in the last book.The characters were all great and consistent to themselves which is always important, and there was nothing inherently wrong in the plot of this book but it just failed to launch for me. There wasn’t really any stakes or any moments I didn’t feel like things weren’t just being prepared for The Last Olympian.I do wish Riordan would slow his writing down though. I’m fully aware this is a middle grade book but that doesn’t mean you have to skimp in detail. There was such little detail a lot of the time in favor of skipping from one thing to the next to the next. It doesn’t ruin the story by any means but it sure does make it feel more shallow than necessary.Those are really my two main gripes. I think the Percy Jackson series is incredibly fun though, and I can’t wait to see where it’s going in the final book. 3 stars.

Each new book that I read in this series is better than the last one. This is probably because I'm getting to know the characters a little more each time, and I have some back stories about them to reflect on from the previous books. As usual I'll try to keep my thoughts spoiler free.Rick Riordan has once again cleverly entwined the mythical world of demigods into the modern world in such a great way. I really liked the concept in this book. The Labyrinth is an amazing setting and is so mysterious. It's a place that has so many possibilities and potential for adventure, that I hope we haven't seen the last of it.Percy is once again on a mission that is full of danger and humour, to stop the baddies from passing through the Labyrinth and into Camp Half-Blood. Aside from the main characters, a number of others have carried over from the previous books. They have added some interesting new sub-plots to keep an eye on and I'm guessing that these characters will have pivotal roles in the next book. I have to say, that I found Nico quite annoying, but I put that down to clever writing that has created a character that is triggering my emotions. No doubt, the next book will build on his story and I will hopefully understand why he is like he is, and why he annoys me so much. Privately, I'm also suspicious of one/more character/s, but I'll let the next book prove me either right or wrong.The Battle of the Labyrinth is another great instalment in the Percy Jackson series. I'm keen to get straight into the next and final book to see if everything turns to rotten eggs, or if the world will survive. I'm confident I know which ending it will be, but it's the journey that fills the books that we love to read, not just the ending.

Urrrrrrgggg!!!!!!! I am rereading this series, and because I know what will happen, I am so frustrated that some things did not happen in this book!!!!! This book was great, and I loved it, and I almost CRIED when I finished it because it ended on a cliffhanger!!! Then I remembered that I had already bought the last book and I was okay again! This book is a must read, and if you have not read the beginning of the series yet, drop everything you are doing right now and START READING!!!!!!! I recommend this book and this series to anyone who can deal with suspense, loves a good action novel, and can enjoys modern Greek mythology. SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!!!

This was a gift for my son and he is currently reading it and is loving it. He's engrossed and doesn't want to stop reading, when it's time for bed, or a meal.

I have always enjoyed Shakespearean literature for what it is. I have particular favorite plays for particular reasons, and I’ll be quite honest. I am a historian by trade, and tend to love the plays that involve the historic kings and queens of England.I’ve read a bit about the man himself, a biography here and there. So I thought I knew a fair amount about him and his work when I picked up this book. I think that’s how many people felt when they selected it.But, the author asserts, there was a different side to Shakespeare than we all know. He apparently had his rebellious side, and like many writers of his day he used allegory to fire shots at the kings and queens in power during his lifetime. Recent research suggests that two poems he wrote that we’ve all shrugged off as indecipherable and rambling, were actually attacks on the royals and their actions as they pertained to religious tolerance during the middle and end of the 16th century.Does it change the entire canon? Do we have to re-examine and redefine Shakespeare’s entire body of work? No. But it does open the door to reinterpretation of all his work. We may find nothing new, but the possibility now exists.

Old junk, do not waste your time .. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!! Do NOT waste your time this book is just junk, ugly ugly junk ... now about my refund amazon ....

I bought this for my boyfriend who's a tattoo artist. The book came around the time they said it would, and it's a decent sized book for the price, the only problem is that since it was labeled "Tattoo Bible" I expected it to talk about tattoos in depth and explain them, maybe even talk about tips on how to do them, however it was only pictures. Maybe I was jus overestimating it? Or not fully understanding the purpose. Either way if you're just looking for a bunch of pictures of tattoos this is a great book for you!!

I thought there would be cooler looking tattoos in here. Ya know, like something rare, maybe some 3D art, or fine detailed stuff that makes you go, "How in the heck..." Nope. These are all hair standard tattoos that you'd see in any average quality Tatoo shop.

I bought this for my husband who tattoos and he absolutely loves it. I actually ended up getting him the entire set because they were so good.

Considering that Superior Tattoo has hundreds of tattoo designs for sale in their catalog, I expected a better selection in these books. Was disappointed. A much better book is the Tattoo Source Book. If not available in the US, go to Canada Amazon, it's still available there.

It wasn't worth the download. No imagination, just standard stuff
