This is a fabulous series by Lyndee Walker that will grab you from page 1.Nichelle is in a meeting with her boss when Trudy comes in with an offer Nichelle can't turn down: the chance to cover a speech given by the President's husband at the same time as the speech given by the President which is covered by Trudy. Still in the meeting going over the day's edition, Nichelle gets a text from Kyle quickly followed by one from Aaron. When she meets with Kyle, an ATF agent and former boyfriend, it's to find out a body of a call girl has been found...in the governor's office. The deeper Nichelle gets into the investigation, she is beginning to wonder who she can trust, who is friend or foe. Will the action she takes in good faith affect her dream of covering a presidential speech?Just like the previous 6 books in this series, it is non-stop action, cleverly plotted with a twist I never saw coming. When I read the last word, I thought Wow! If you have never read the Nichelle Clark books, you are missing out with one of the best series out there. Another big win for LynDee Walker, she never let's you down with Nichelle, keeps you guessing until the end and you still get it wrong. I love this series, always a great read. Keep them coming please!!

Nichelle went nosing on the internet into Lakshmi and noted a picture on social media, which disappeared right before her eyes.Lakshmi's body was found on the governor's desk, and from social media, she was seeing his son. The more Nichelle dug, the more stone walls she hit. When Nichelle decides to release a story, she doesn't realize the danger that is involved, which includes herself. She, also, doesn't know who her friends are because she knows something is being kept from her. Her friends wouldn't lie to her, would they?Great thriller that kept me guessing!I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Deadly Politics, the seventh book in the Nichelle Clarke thriller series, finds Nichelle going from excitement about a political assignment to ..... a dead body in the governor's office. The murder investigation quickly becomes a room of trick mirrors for Nichelle -- who can she trust? What's the truth? The questions pile up, and each piece of information adds to the mystery. If she doesn't figure out this puzzle, the result could well be deadly, really deadly. In Deadly Politics, Nichelle is gritty and tenacious. I believe this is my favorite Nichelle Clarke book to date. I highly recommend it! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I purchased one as well.
If you like strong women, a very fast pace, intriguing mysteries, a stud-ly boyfriend and an ex who still likes her, then read this book!!Nichelle Clarke is an accomplished news reporter who has been at the center of not just reporting the news, but solving the crimes. She is intuitive, fast-thinking and well-regarded by local law enforcement, to the point where they actually encouraged her participation in the investigation.This seventh book in the series presents Nichelle as more sure of herself and her abilities, just as she has grown in her relationship with bad-boy Joey.A great fun read that had me staying up well past bedtime, unable to put it down. Highly recommended!!
This is one of my favorite Nichelle books so far, and I hope they never stop coming!! I couldn't put the book down, just kept reading to find out what was next, and yet, I didn't want it to end because it was such a fantastic read! I love when a series continues and you feel like these characters are "friends" of yours- you can't help but want to continue to be a part of their lives and see what happens to them next! Bring on more Nichelle Clark!!!
This isn't the same Nichelle from the first six books in this series. If you like LynDee Walker's newest series featuring Faith McClellan you will like the new Nichelle. I don't. The final outcome was riveting, high tension and gory. No longer any cozy components.Previously this series was titled: High Heels Mysteries but there were very few mentions of exclusive footwear. This latest episode the references to Louboutin and Manolo are constant - almost like someone is trying too hard to remind us who Nichelle is since there has been a long break between books 6 and 7.I give the book a 4/5 because it is well written overall and they mystery is well done.I received an ARC from the author which I very much appreciate. I just miss my old Nichelle.
