I have always loved Valerie Bertinelli. But, I fell even more in love with her on Food Network with the kids baking show. She is so sweet. supportive and kind to the kids. That said, her book is a joy to read and the recipes are mouth watering. She has a recipe for Napolian cookies which really is like a little cake that I have wanted for years. A friend served it at a party but would not share the recipe. You can imagine how delighted I was to find this exact recipe in this book!!!! I read cookbooks like I read novels. At the end of my read through I felt so connected with her. What a delightful and truly special human being she is. If you love reading cookbooks and looking for some yummy recipes you will want to purchase this book!

This book has lots of pictures and are very easy recipes. It is all lightened up family friendly recipes. They have the nutritional contents as well so that is great for all the people using My Fitness Pal or counting their calories in general.She integrates child hood stories in with the recipes which is cool. I grew up with her so it is neat hearing what her home life was really like versus what we see on TV.I like it is family friendly food that is kicked up a notch with nutrition.

So my wife bought her cookbook and is making us a variety of Bertinelli's recipes.This is an must purchase for a cookbook library, and makes a wonderful gift.My wife is a chef school graduate so when she raves about a cookbook I know there is something to it. But I know there is something good about it just from my plate!!!I tried to find a contact address for Bertinelli but could not, so posted our thanks here after munching on her toasted pumpkin seeds tonight. Love the recipes. Love Valerie & reading about her love of family & good food. The Sicilian Love Cake is worth the price of the book. My daughter took it home with her for the pizzelle & Neopolitan cookie recipes which are just like our old, traditional family recipes. Delicious! I will be purchasing another book because I doubt I will get mine back!

I love this cookbook! The recipes are easy to follow and don't require a lot of hard-to-find ingredients. The stories that go along with the recipes add a personal touch. Ms. Bertinelli is so pleasant. This cookbook actually inspired me to cook brussel sprouts for the first time ever and I liked them!

I am still reading this book and I love all the stories behind each recipe. I have started to flag recipes that I wish to prepare. The photographs are beautiful. So happy I bought it.

I purchased this book to expand my knowledge of clock repair, specifically platform escapements which are always found in carriage clocks. The material is thorough and easy to follow. The chapters follow a logical progression from start to finish. My only disappointment is that the chapter on platform escapements made several references to other books that covered that subject more thoroughly and did not go into great detail.The author is an expert and does a very good job putting the information in terms the beginner should be able to understand.

Great book for studying the Bible and a wonderful text book. I disagree with the thought that the Holy Spirit cannot help you interpret scripture, that is found in this book. It says without everything and the way you do their methods of study, then you cannot interpret the Bible correctly. If the Holy Spirit helped them write it, can’t he help us read it?

There is a lot of good stuff here, but my primary gripe is that they deny an important hermeneutical distinction made by Luther, Calvin, and every Reformation Christian that followed in their wake for hundreds of years. What they deny is the proper distinction between Law and Gospel. They also deny that the Law can be divided into ceremonial, civil, and moral categories. This distinction was also held to by all of the Reformers. By denying these crucial distinctions, they are redifining how Protestant Christians read their Bible. The inevitable result will be substantive departures from historic, Reformation Christianity. I think that's dangerous. Where are they, and those following them, going to end up? They're essentially rethinking the Christian faith.The authors are writing from a premillinial-dispensationalist-baptist perspective, so they encourage readers to take the apocalyptic literature of Revelation literally, as much as is absolutely possible. That's interesting, when the authors take all references to baptism and the Lord's supper in the scriptures to be figurative, even when the context is historical narrative (i.e. this is my body, baptism now saves you, etc.).As a general rule, it is a good historical, literary approach to understanding the scriptures. If you are a more traditional Reformed Baptist who holds to Covenental Theology, or if you are more Classically Reformed or Lutheran, then there will be much that you find in this book that is at direct odds with your tradition and your confessional standards. If you are a "New Calvinist" baptist, and a premillenial-dispensationalist, then you'll probably be in essential agreement with the authors, as that is the perspective they are writing from.

The book itself is excellent. If you are purchasing the kindle version in order to listen to the text-to-speech option, be warned that it can be hard to follow. In my opinion, the pausing is messed up. It pauses longer at commas than periods, which is the opposite of how it should be. This makes comprehending the text difficult. Also, reading out the long lists of references is tedious and the reading of the Bible abbreviations can be confusing.

Had to get this for a class and I'm so glad I got it. It has really helped me to be able to read and understand the Bible. I've been in church since I was 3 years old and grew up in it. But was always intimidated to read and study the word of God because I felt I couldn't fully understand it. Now I'm loving studying the Bible any chance I get. I brag about this book all the time to my friends. A must read. It's also helped with the Bible studies we give. Great material and written perfectly for anyone to understand.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. This was one of the required textbooks for a seminary and I found it to be very engaging to read. The book is written so well and really gives the reader some practical strategies in how to read the Bible and how to accurately interpret what you read. It is a great resource for anyone waning to dig deeper and get the most out of your Bible study, This is a book that I will indeed hang onto and use as a resource in the future.

It is broken into concise chapters that aid in understanding how to get the most out of relating the Word as it was written in Biblical times to today's world, using a 5 step process that makes sense. Look at various verses, consider the historical circumstances, and the literary type. When I completed my class at seminary, I sold the book but later regretted not having it and bought another copy to use in my personal Bible study.

Awesome workbook to an awesome book. This isn't really necessary, but it's very helpful for a classroom/discipling environment. The book is great at teaching how to study the bible and equips the students to learn by practicing. The workbook contains all the same exercises as the book, but it's just more convenient than to print out materials or xerox a bunch of pages.

This book was a nice mix of a Clifford story and fun facts about Hanukkah. It is a good way to introduce little ones to different traditions.

My grand-boys (age 4 & 7) enjoyed the story. I liked introducing them to customs of the Jewish faith. We are Christians but, I think it is important for them to know the culture and practices of the Jewish faith, after all, Jesus was Jewish.

sweet for Hanukkah but seems it was written more for non Jews than for Jews. Just felt that way for me. Would be ok for either Jew or gentile but it was so simplified it would have more appeal to a non-Jewish family.

Cute book as most classic Clifford books are. Only issue is that the paper the pages are made out of are very thin and cheap feeling. My son will need to be overly careful not to rip this book. I've never seen a children's book with such poor quality paper. Just odd.

It's a cute book, my daughter loved seeing Clifford celebrate a holiday we celebrate. However, the story of Hanukkah presented in this book is incorrect. The miraculous oil was in the lamp over the arc not in a menorah. Also a hanukiah is lit to celebrate Hanukkah not a menorah. A menorah is any candelabra, it's not specific to Hanukkah

We invested in several Clifford board books for when my gentle toddler was into his paperback stories and my not so gentle toddler was destroying them. This story is very much loved and has taken a lot of abuse. Well made book with a lovely story about one of our favorite dogs!

Great book if you are introducing your child to the idea that not everyone celebrates Christmas. We are Jewish so it wasn’t really for us, but we did give it another child.

Our child had a Clifford Birthday Party and we used this so everyone could sign it and leave messages for her that she could read one day. I wish it was hard back but it was okay.

We usually love the Clifford books, but this one less so... I don’t like that his friends don’t come to his party because they aren’t proud of the gifts they got for him.

What I've been buying every year for I don't know how many years!

The best for keeping track of the aspects! New and Full moon!

This calendar is always stunning and accurate. This is the 5th year I've purchased this calendar and don't plan on stopping with my yearly tradition. My fiance and I enjoy reading the calendar a few times a month to see if the bad.and good days match the calendar.

I order one of these Astrology calendars every year and I really like them a lot. They have a lot of good information about Astrology too. Nice space to write in daily and nice pictures too. Very happy with this calendar.

I got this to give to a friend for a Christmas present. I gave it to her back in September. She has MS and I just wanted to make sure she received it because we live where weather can get pretty bad in the winters. She loved it. The pictures are beautiful and it has horoscopes for each month for all the zodiac signs - not just that month. I was pleased that she loved it so much.

I buy the Llewellyn calendar for my mother every year for Christmas and she loves it. The artwork is beautiful and true to each sign. Every year the pictures are so different. The horoscopes every month are very detailed, and provide alot of insight.

I just love these calendars! I have been getting them for years. It is annoying that the astrology is always on Eastern Standard Time, but oh well, it's still a great work of art and contains a lot of information! I keep it at work so I can look at it often. My work colleagues enjoy reading their horoscopes and asking me questions about astrology.

What's crazy about this calendar is the images almost seem like they are characters drawn by an animator until you look closely at their faces. You can see the imperfections and realize they are made to resemble real people. Perfectly imperfect individuals wielding this amazing power. It's a beautiful calendar very inclusive and has a huge resource in the back for how to use and why you should use the icons listed. First one of these and probably won't be my last.

It has all the original illustrations and is the size of a normal book so the print is large enough to read. That's important as it's 531 pages. After watching a PBS documentary on this book late one night, I checked the smaller paperback size version out of the local library. Half the size of this one and few pictures. After 70 pages I realized I wanted the original version with all the illustrations and normal size print and this book is it! Good printing, clear illustrations and I'm happy! I'm retired but this is the version I would buy for grandkids. It's a funny book!

These observations are only about the Seawolf Press paperback edition of this book. Up till now I’ve been very apprehensive to print on demand books, but this is an absolutely spectacular production. All of the illustrations are very detailed and meaningful. The cover is beautiful and a thick matte paper. The overall construction of this book is amazing. I started buying the Seawolf Press editions of the Jack London tiles last month. I bought about 20 of them. I’m probably going to buy several more. But then I thought I should maybe grab a couple of the other classics that are done by Seawolf while I can. These are even nicer than the Penguin Classics Deluxe Editions. I wish they had the folded French covers, but they have every other accoutrement you could want in a paperback. This will almost certainly be the best edition available on the market in paperback today for any title they have.These are almost too nice to read!

An excellent read on Mr. Twain's travels to the Old Country.Having been to some of the places he writes on in the book, his exposure remains "right on".As with Twain's long reads, he finally wears you out about to the end.
